  1. You must have arrived at your final recipe/formulation for your food product.
    • Be sure your acid(ified) food product has a safe level of acidity (review criteria here)
    • Minor recipe differences are treated as different products by the FDA and each requires a process review (separate sample, e.g. hot, mild, medium). Different container sizes or types do not require a separate process review.
    • The FDA requires you to list the ingredients and all sub-ingredients in your process letter.
  2. Complete the paperwork required for food product submission (send email using this template)
    • We will ask for company info, product name, product ingredients and sub-ingredients, the quantity used in grams or kilograms, and the desired processing (e.g. hot fill).
  3. Prepare 4-8 oz. fresh product in containers and package to prevent breakage or leakage.  There is no need to send more than 8 – 16 oz. of each product.
  4. Ship samples – we have various locations.  You will need to email us to check the shipping location or we will provide that in response to receiving your paperwork (company and product info.).
  5. Cost | $75 per sample. You will be billed for payment just before your process letter is delivered.
  6. Samples will be analyzed and process letter(s) created in 1-2 weeks, during some very busy times it may take more time (sorry).  Rush service may be available.
  7. Feel free to inquire by email about your samples at any time after a week has passed.  And, please don't inquire more than weekly.  We do not accept phone calls, sorry.
